A Mystic Journey into the Labyrinth of Earthly Life

The sphere of Kingdom (Malkhut) on the Tree of Life is referred to as the Brilliant Intelligence. Look around you and you will see this truly brilliant intelligence at work in every facet of Nature, in every cell of your body, and in the entire cosmos. Kingdom is the tangible realm of all the wondrous things that can be grasped by our five senses. It represents the magnificent energy that gives rise to the final manifestation of all physical phenomena.

While Malkhut or Kingdom is the lowest and the most dense of all spheres on the Tree of Life, it is by no means any less important than the other nine spheres of energy. A true mystic or Kabbalist never denigrates the material universe or the human body. This is the majestic Kingdom that must be honored and made worthy of the Divine Presence or the Shekinah.

Within the human organism, the Soul – i.e., our human consciousness – constitutes a spark of Divine Presence or Shekinah and is destined to be the Queen of this Kingdom. She is the Bride who is meant to be wedded only to her true King, the majestic Crown Prince at the sphere of Harmony/Tiferet, which represents our psycho-spiritual Higher Self. In other words, when we become fully integrated and whole, our psyche, brain, and body become aligned with our inner spiritual guide and we no longer take directives and orders from anyone but from our own Divine Higher Self.

According to Kabbalistic psychology, it takes many lifetimes and many journeys through the highs and lows of earthly life for the Kingdom of our being to be purified of alien and illegitimate rulers such as social and religious prejudices, unhealthy habits, hypnotic conditioning, excessive desires, negative emotions, harmful ideals, and illusions. Every earthy experience and every lesson learned in the School of Life brings us one step closer to the joyous inner wedding, the Magnum Opus, or the Great Work.
